On 1 December 2025, the RCN will be updating to the new EBSCO user interface. This change will affect RCN members who use the CINAHL and Medline databases. The update includes a new searching interface and changes to personal accounts.
If you have set up a personal account with EBSCO for CINAHL or Medline this will be affected. We will be sharing more guidance on how to access your account following the change.
Your EBSCO checklist:
1. Copy your search history by 30 November
"Saved Searches" in your default "My Folder" will carry over to the new interface, however, it won’t be possible to download or export the full search history.
✅Copy your search history into a document, or email it to yourself before 30 November.
2. Email or export your articles by 30 November
Articles saved in your default "My Folder" will carry over to the new interface, however, we recommend that you make a copy of them before the change.
✅Email details of the articles to yourself or export them to reference management software before 30 November.
3. Book onto a training
We’re here to help make this change easier. We’ll be running a CINAHL training session introducing the new interface shortly after the launch. We also offer bookable one to ones to support with CINAHL and Medline.
